fundraising ideas...

  • Take a $1 offering on a specific Sunday for a camp scholarship fund.
  • Rock-A-Thon - Students are challenged to get friends, family, neighbors and other significant adults to sponsor them for a specific amount for the number of hours kids rock back and forth in a rocking chair. You can turn this into a fun overnighter with your youth group providing popcorn, movies, or some kind of entertainment/fun.
  • Rummage Sale - Help families in your church, neighborhood, or city clean out their attics of unused items. Have students collect items people wish to get rid of for a period of time then sale it on a sunny weekend, with all proceeds going to your camp fund.
  • Work Day at the Church - Students are challenged to get friends, family, neighbors and other significant adults to sponsor them for a specific amount for the number of hours they clean at the church. Talk to your facility overseer and orchestrate a given day in which the kids can come to the church and bless the church while earning their way to camp.
  • Can Collecting - Have your group of students collect and redeem cans for a period of time from families in the church, neighborhood, and city. Organize a 'clean the city' work- day in which the students go to parks and look for cans to collect.
  • Skate-A-Thon - Students are challenged to get friends, family, neighbors and other significant adults to sponsor them for a specific amount for the number of laps the skate around a rink. In association with your local skating rink, organize a night in which your students can come down skate. Some churches have even been able to get the owners of the skating rink to match proceeds raised. Have fun!
  • Spaghetti Feed - Have your students sell tickets to a spaghetti feed night. Then, working with your church, set up a time in which you could use a particular room to serve the food and provide a simple form of entertainment (i.e.: students perform a skit, students explain why they want to go to camp, show a camp promo video, etc.)
  • Slave-for-a-day Auction - Have students sell their time to people within your church who need help around the house like cleaning, mowing, washing windows, etc.
  • A Truly “Free” Car Wash - Students are challenged to get friends, family, neighbors and other significant adults to sponsor them for a specific amount for every car washed by their group on the day of the car wash. The goal is to bless and serve as many people as possible while providing a free service to your community. Then your group can have fun promoting, “This is a FREE Car Wash and absolutely NO donations will be accepted. Someone has already paid for your cleansing.”
